About Us

Dr. Allen S. Garai received his post-doctoral at Rochester, NY, where he completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and continued with a two-year specialty in Orthodontics at Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester, recognized as one of the top orthodontic residency programs in the country.

While at Eastman, he dedicated time to study facial growth in patients with cranio facial abnormalities under the supervision of Dr. J.D. Subtelny who is one of the pioneers in the orthodontic treatment of patients with cranio facial abnormalities.

Dr. Garai has been awarded the honorary title of “Diplomate” by the American Board of Orthodontics. The American Board of Orthodontics is the only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association. Dr. Garai teaches lingual “invisible” orthodontics at the post-doctoral orthodontic program of Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He has also served on the staff of Fairfax Hospital as an orthodontic consultant to the Center for Facial Rehabilitation. Dr. Garai is presently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the American Lingual Orthodontics Association (ALOA), World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), American Dental Association (ADA), Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society, Northern Virginia Orthodontic Society and the Fairfax Dental Society.

In his free time, Dr. Garai enjoys playing soccer and various sports. He is also a sponsor to several area youth leagues. He and his wife, Sherry, have three children.
